Rope Bracelet

Hi friends!  If you read yesterday's post you might remember that I am currently relaxing at the beach - I use the term relaxing loosely because my 13 month old is on strike from the Pack n Play and most sleeping altogether.  Fortunately he's holding it together like a champ and spending the day clapping and dancing and pointing at birds and cars as they drive by.  I'm hopeful sheer exhaustion will set in soon and he'll fall deeply in love with the mobile crib and we can FULLY enjoy the rest of our time here.

But - I can see the ocean from our outdoor balcony, and that's enough to make up for the lack of sleep.

Since I'm technically on vacation, this post will be short, sweet and to the point.  I am a big fan of jewelry - necklaces, earrings, bracelets, watches - you name it, I have it.  I think I've said this once before but that whole, "Take off one accessory before you leave the house" rule doesn't fly with me.

So when I noticed this very cool rope bracelet on Pinterest, I had to make it.  It is the perfect kind of bracelet to add for layering and a fun pop of color.  And it literally uses nothing but a couple scraps of fabric, a fun button and a few stitches on the sewing machine.

This fun and easy tutorial comes from Sew Craft Create

I'm going to link to it here and send you all to her site for the details.   She spells it out SO much better than I could ever imagine.  If at first you feel overwhelmed, just trust her and go for it.  I wasn't sure I would be able to follow it, but as I did each step, the tutorial began making perfect sense.

My one little personal added bit of advice?  Attach a small safety pin to the bottom of each strip of fabric you are braiding and threading.  It not only makes it easier to do it, it totally speeds up the process.  You're welcome.

This was such a fun project - I can't wait to get back home and add a few more in different colors.

Now, if you'll excuse me - I'm back to vacation!  And don't forget to check out our sponsor post and giveaway.
