Coloring Craze

If you have seen Macie lately I can tell you that there is one word you probably have heard out of her mouth: Color. She has become obsessed with coloring. She wants to color all the time and it doesn't matter where she is. I had to go into the office today (yes, I do sometimes have a side job - sort of) and Macie pretty much made her rounds to all of the ladies in the office so she could sit at their desks and color with them. By the time we left the office, she had about three colors of pen on her and one lovely shade of highlighter on her shirt... she considered it a successful visit.

Because of the new found love of coloring in the house, I've been on the lookout for coloring books that Macie would be interested in. Why you ask?? It could be because the apple doesn't fall from the tree and my mother would be happy to show you all the crayon on her family room walls or the blue pen marks on my aunt's white couch. It could be. Anywho - I've been on the lookout for some coloring books and haven't found many that fit Macie's age range so enter Pinterest. It just so happens that there are a ton of free coloring pages floating around. Hallelujah!

After having coloring pages all over the house I decided it was time to get organized and make Macie a coloring book. This was a quick little project that doesn't take a lot of effort but it had a huge impact on Miss Macie. I found a couple pieces of card stock and a hole punch and went to town.

I printed off a bunch of coloring pages of all of Macie's faves and stacked them neatly in between the card stock and then punched holes through the whole stack. I decided on three holes and if I could have gotten my hands on a 3-hole punch, yeah, that would have been faster. I tied the book up with some ribbon and then decorated the cover to cute it up. If Macie were a little older I think she could have decorated it herself and made it her own.

Macie loves her little book and has been coloring with it and I've been happy with all of the coloring pages in one place. It's great because I can even change the pages out as she colors through the book. Success!

In case you're wondering - here are some of the links of the pages that I've found. There are tons out there so I think I'll be changing out the pages of this book a lot.

Happy Coloring!
