Picture Frame Wreath

Here's what my last week looked like:

Ok, it wasn't quite that Groundhog Day-ish, but I am pretty sure I hit up the drive thru near my house more than once ;)

Are you sick of me talking about fall yet?  Seriously, I know - you're like "Miranda, we get it - fall is here, blah blah blah"  I feel like I keep going on and on about it, but I'm really excited.  I decided this weekend that it was time to start decorating the house - starting with the front porch area.

I saw this and was a little inspired to survey my stash o'goodies and see what I could put together.

I love the look of the embroidery hoop, but I didn't have one and Michael's was selling them for $17 so that was not happening.  I have a ton of old picture frames that I collect when I come across them at Goodwill or thrift stores, so I pulled one out of my stash, along with a scrap piece of burlap.

I made a stencil with my Cricut and some sticky vinyl, using H for our last name and got to sponge painting.

I also made a little bunting to hang across it.  I cut out triangles from cardstock and added white vinyl letters, also cut out from my Cricut.  I mod podged the letters with the new antique mod podge.

Added a few leaf stencils, some twine for the bunting and a loop of lace to hang from.

What do you think?  I think it's a decent little start and can't wait to add more to it but I might have to do my living room first!!

Have you made a "wreath" with something other than an actual wreath?  I love creative wreath ideas so let me know if you have any others!
