A Little Box of Tea and a GIVEAWAY

If you have been reading this week, you already know that we have been doing all sorts of fun projects for Valentine's Day courtesy of our friends from DecoArt. We've already tackled Paint Dipped Champagne Glasses, Personalized Mugs, a Valentine's Breakfast in Bed complete with a chalkboard tray and Valentine's Napkin. The one thing that was on the tray we haven't talked about yet is the cute little tea box.

When Miranda and I came up with our breakfast in bed theme, one of the things that we talked about was what we would like if someone -ahem- happened to give us breakfast in bed (after letting us sleep in for hours of course). Both Miranda and I may have a small addiction to coffee but tea is a close second so a cute box to store tea seemed like a cute idea...and it didn't hurt that we had the awesome clear chalkboard paint that we couldn't get enough of.

I found this little wood box at Michael's for cheap and it fit 6-8 tea bags perfectly so it was quickly added to my cart and declared mine. After I got home, it was time to break out the DecoArt box and get to work. If you want to make one just like it this is all you need.

First I painted the little box in two good coats of the Americana Grey Sky. After that was nice and dry, I added an oval of Razzle Berry to the top of the box. Can you guess what's going to go there?? Yup, Chalkboard coating. I painted it once horizontally and then once vertically, let it dry for about an hour and did it again. Once it was dry, I added some cute dots around the oval in Soft Heather and painted the inside of the box with the Soft Heather to add a little bit of interest. Not hard right? The chalkboard coating takes 8 hours to cure so fast forward to the next day. Once it's cured, just rub some chalk on it and time to write whatever you want! So fun!

I was a tad obvious and wrote Tea. Yup, I'm dull - but you could write anything! I love this little box. It is not going to be religated to just Valentine's Day.

Okay - ready for some great news??? I know you are. DecoArt wants to share some love during this Love Week with you too! They are giving one lucky reader a heart basket full of goodies. See??

You know you want it. Just scroll on down to the Rafflecopter and enter so this little goodie basket can be yours!

Good Luck!
