DIY HE Washing Machine Cleaner

I love my washing machine.  I seriously do - it does everything it's supposed to, every time it's supposed to and how it's supposed to.  It never acts up or gives me trouble.  It's a lovely washing machine.

It's an Front Loader HE machine - and apparently these are a bit notorious for getting a little stinky.  A little mildew smelly.  And mine has gotten to that point.

But do not fear!  I have found a quick and easy solution using products from your home already!  Are you excited?

I hope so...I was.

(No, seriously I was.  I'm such a geek when it comes to home cleaning products...not in the I love to clean kind of way, because I hate to clean.  More in the, I like to make my own products kind of way.)

Now that we've cleared that up...

Here's what you need:

- white vinegar
- baking soda

Use about 2 c. of white vinegar, split between the detergent dispenser of your machine and the rest into the basin.  Turn the washing machine on to the "clean washer" setting.

After that is done, sprinkle about 1/2 c. baking soda in the basin and run a regular wash cycle with hot water.

BYE BYE STINKIES.

Ah, happy day.  Fresh, clean smelling clothes again.  Makes me want to sing and dance and run through a field of poppies.  Or...something like that.

Do you have any tips for keeping your washer clean?
