Personalized Mugs for your Love

Yesterday Miranda told you how we were approached by DecoArt to do a fun Valentine's Day project so I won't bore you with those details all over again. I will, however, let you in on a little secret. We are over achievers. While I was editing some of the pictures for this post I just started laughing. We had so many different little projects going on at the same time that I had to skip back and forth between pictures to find the ones I took (or forgot to take) of these fun mugs. I'm not sure why we are such poor time managers, but man - we are. We get excited over supplies and want to try it all!

One of the things that caught my eye in the DecoArt catalog were the glass paint markers. I love the idea of personalizing cups and mugs and plates for people but sometimes paint can get messy. Oh, is that just me?? Perhaps - Feel free to deny that you are a messy crafter, I own it. I know I am. Anywho, back to mugs.

We were talking about a simple fun way to make your favorite coffee or tea partner's mug special and the glass paint markers fit the bill! This could be the easiest gift idea ever. All you need is a plain mug and some glass paint markers

1. Find some plain mugs and make sure they are nice and clean.

2. Come up with a fun idea or design -- think think think.

3. Grab your glass paint markers and shake shake shake.

4. Draw your fun idea/design on the mug and let it dry.

5. Wait 8 hours (or just go to bed).

6. Bake your mugs at 375 degrees in the oven for 40 minutes.

7. DONE!

Our mugs are simple and understated but perfect for a gift for your love. Stay tuned tomorrow for more projects  -- there are more to come!!!
